    This Saturday...
...is my Birthday so normally I'd go to the pub. But I can't, because I'll be at Hades doing the Alt 80's night from 9pm until 3:30am

So, because I still wanna have drinkies, we will be running FREE entry to Hades Bar until 11pm with the theory that those who wanna come out for drinks with me won't have to pay for it.

    :)

    A snapshot from the future?
So, I stayed in last night. About midnight I was flicking through music channels and a video came on one of the channels that play alot of 80's music...and I made a fantastic discovery.

Rewind a couple of weeks, The new VNV Nation album came out. Toby said that he'd bet £20.00 that by 2012 VNV Nation would sound like The Mission. I was speaking to him at Chains last week about this, I disagreed, but could not find a way to describe the 2012 VNV Nation that I had foreseen until now...

I believe that this fell back through time somehow - This has almost the same unique vocal and lyrical style, and a slick new look that I think they could pull off. It also has that authentic futurepop sound - if you turn the bass up loads...

Ladies and gentlemen, I present the VNV Nation of 2012?!

    Steph's Norwich Wake - Additional
The pub are letting us have the function room for free, so long as we put a bucket in the room for collecting donations for Cystic Fibrosis research. The landlady suggested we should make it a bit more fun (!) and maybe hold a raffle...so...

We are going to hold a "junk raffle"

As we only have a couple of "prizes" we are asking people with a sense of humour to bring along something pointless, random and if at all possible, crap. Be it something in your kitchen cupboard or something you are about to make from old loorolls, tinfoil and stickytape.

We don't care what it is, so long as it's not too large, it must also be (reasonably) hygienic and legal!

Further details will probably be made up on or just before the night with the draw being held near the end of the evening.

    Sorry for the short notice!

*EDIT* We will accept unwanted 'good' stuff aswell... the idea is that it's a "fun" way to give us your cash for charity and that it won't cost anybody anything! :)

    Steph's Funeral
For those on my friend’s list who haven’t heard - Steph ([info]beleraphon) passed away suddenly on Tuesday morning.

I'm still not sure what to write about the last few days events, so I’ll stick to the funeral arrangements.

Steph's Funeral will be on Friday 3rd March at 1:45pm at

    Markeaton Crematorium
    Markeaton Lane
    Derby

It will be non-religious, as we believe that’s what she would have wanted.

ALL ARE WELCOME - please tell us if you are coming though, so we have an idea of how many to plan for and how much crash space is required.

If anybody has anything they want to say/have said at the Funeral please get in contact (chains_on_velvet at hotmail dot com).

A note to dress code - Steph's parents and myself would like her friends to go dressed as Steph would have seen them on any other social occasion she attended - be it Chains On Velvet or Gamesoc pub crawl. Please don't feel compelled to "dress Funeral" unless that’s what you usually wear!

Richard & Lynne (Steph’s Parents) Chris (Steph’s Brother) and myself (Simon) would all like to thank everybody for their kind words and support over the last few days and we hope you can make it to the Funeral.

If there are any questions - please ask.

    Please circulate this where needed.
